There's actually a long story behind this one... ^_^;
Back when I was a kid, my mom would take me the drug store once a week. If I was good, she'd buy me a comic book. I wasn't too picky back then, so I would choose whatever caught my eye. One week, it was Marvel's "What if...?" #31. The story was something about Spidey keeping his cosmic powers. Pretty forgettable, except for one page. There was a part where Spidey uses his powers to give Mary Jane a costume. I thought it was the coolest thing. Flash forward almost 20 years later where I'm just sitting at home and that damn comic pops into my head again. I go hunting for it and finally found a copy this morning (thanks go out to Yeah. That comic was a lot cooler when you're like 10. XD Don't believe me? See for yourself... [link] The art may have been crappy, but the idea was sound. I tweaked it a little here for my liking. Namely her mask. I also lengthened her gloves and boots to differentiate her from Spider-man's costume more. I have to admit, I am intrigued by the idea of the red spider emblem on her back wrapping around the sides of the costume so I may play with a back shot later. Hope you enjoy my trip down memory lane as much as I did! XD CommentsThis is very cool!
-- Q: How many Transformers fans does it take to change a light bulb? A: Eight. One to change it, and the rest to complain that the light bulb was so much better back in the 80s. I support well-written, in-character fanfic! |

There are a couple of things, however, technique-wise, that I would like to bring up. The first is her eyes. Even in a cartoon style, you normally do not see the entire iris unless someone is shocked or very surprised.
The second is a line clarity issue. The lines have a bit of a wobble to the edges, that makes it look like the may have been hand drawn, scanned in, and darkened. Since you are very proficient with an image editing program, you might try inking digitally to get you line a little crisper.
As I said though, it is a really good work. I only nitpick when there are no major flaws.
What I like most about this piece is that she looks strong, not just busty or hippy like most female super heroes do. If a bad guy came up against Mrs. Spider Man, they would know the true meaning of justice.
Great job!
